Have General Questions About the Retreat?

Who is the Athlete Overnight Retreat for?

You as a collegiate athlete. Additionally, it is best experience with others from your team. So, if you know teammates who find faith important or would simply come because you asked them, have them register!

Which location do I attend?

Either one. The dates were decided in order to serve athletes in different athletic seasons. The locations were decided in order to serve the greatest number of athletes/teams in a geographical location that Athletes InterVarsity currently serves.

What can athletes expect when they come?

The goal of the overnight is for Athletes to experience God. This is accomplished by meeting together, having fun and embracing a spiritual vision to take back to your team. We will have official times together on Friday night (starting at 6:45 pm) and then hang out a bit before “lights out”. Saturday will begin with breakfast. Between breakfast and end time (4:00 pm), official time together is scheduled for spiritual instruction, fun and time for individual and small group interactions.

When does it start and end?

The Overnight Retreat is actually 21 hrs and 45 mins (to be exact). It will start 6:45 pm, Friday, and end at 4:00 pm, Saturday.

Is this a lock-in? Will I get any sleep?

It is not a lock-in. We will have some official sessions for training and fun. We will enjoy the later evening together on Friday but will have a defined “lights out” time. One of the goals of the retreat is to refresh you as an athlete. Not to send you home tired and worn out.

What should I bring?

Overnight and sleeping items. Additionally, we will move around for light game play. Optional: Bible, journal and writing utensil (However, we will provide most of what you need for activities and the training).

When should I arrive?

You can arrive at your location starting at 6:00 pm.

Are meals provided?

Saturday breakfast and lunch are provided for registered retreat attenders. Please plan to eat before you arrive on Friday evening. FYI: snacks will be provided throughout.
